Accessibility Statement

Accessibility at Sugar Wood

Sugar Wood is committed to making our website usable by everyone, including customers with disabilities. We design, build, and test against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard.

What we do

  • Audit our site regularly using free automated tools (axe DevTools, Lighthouse, WAVE).
  • Fix accessibility issues at the template level so improvements roll out across every page.
  • Maintain this public accessibility statement so customers know what to expect.
  • Follow accessible content practices for product descriptions, alt text, and form copy.

What we're working on

  • Meeting or exceeding the WCAG AA 4.5:1 contrast minimum on all interactive elements.
  • Ensuring every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard alone.
  • Descriptive alt text on every product image.
  • Reviewing third-party widgets and asking those vendors to meet the same standard.

Known limitations

Some elements on our site come from third-party apps (for example, a promotional bar and a partner/affiliate widget). These are outside our direct control and may not yet meet WCAG 2.1 AA in all cases. We have flagged these with the vendors and will update this page as fixes ship.

Report an accessibility issue

If you hit a barrier using our site, please tell us — we want to fix it.

  • Email: heysugar@sugarwood.co
  • Subject line: "Accessibility issue"
  • Include the page URL, what you were trying to do, and (if helpful) the assistive technology you were using.

We aim to respond within two business days and to address issues within two weeks where feasible.

Standards and review

This statement reflects the state of our accessibility work as of June 2026. We review and update it at least quarterly. Our last full WCAG 2.1 AA review was completed in June 2026.
